Adam Maroney sent me the following information about Henderson Chapel Cemetery:

Here are some photographs of the Henderson Chapel African American Cemetery that is located within the Land Between the Lakes National Park that straddles West Kentucky and West Tennessee. This cemetery (along with the Kansas Cemetery) are both located in Lyon County, Kentucky and are a short distance from each other. My research indicates that many of the people in both cemeteries were related.

Most of the graves in this cemetery are marked only with homemade crosses. As with the Kansas Cemetery, a large number of these graves belong to former slaves. At one time, there was a schoolhouse/church adjacent to this cemetery; however, it is long gone now. I took these photographs in June 2006.
