The Roger Conant Statue is located on Washington Square in Salem, Massachusetts.
![]() Antique postcard, postmarked July 20, 1958. Roger Conant was the first settler to live in Salem. He led a group of people to the town in 1626, and served as their governor. In 1628 he was replaced with a new governor, John Endicott. Roger Conant lived in Salem until his death in 1679. The statue was designed by Henry H. Kitson, and was dedicated on June 17, 1913.
