R. Remlinger sent me the following information about Saint Mary's Cemetery:
Years ago, work started on a parking lot across from Oak Grove and St. Mary Cemetery in Delaware. The property used to be the old St. Mary Cemetery before all the graves were moved across the street. Unfortunately, they were not all moved as they started coming across buried head stones and human remains, including a priest. Yikes! The church, trying to avoid any media or legal hassle (it was reported in the Dispatch and Delaware Gazette) moved to completely search the area, tearing up the whole parking lot and re-paving it for the owner once it was completely searched. I sing with the choir, and was at the cemetery for the dedication of the new burial area. Most of the remains were not identified, but the few that were, were given a proper burial, including the priest who already had his spot in Priest circle; now they finally reunited the remains with the stone. St. Mary created a nice little memorial which I visited again today as everything is finally complete. All the stones they found were mounted together and a memorial stone was added.
