R. Remlinger sent me the following e-mail about the Delaware Mausoleum:

The Delaware Mausoleum was located on Sandusky Street, directly across from Oak Grove Cemetery. When we moved to Delaware in 1995, I remember driving by this old building that was very run down, vandalized, and in horrible shape. In 1999, the city finally decided to raze the building as it had become a health and safety hazard. The roof had so many holes in it that the building was infested with bats and pigeons. The workers who went into the mausoleum had to wear hazmat suits to protect themselves. They found much of the interior and graves to be damaged and vandalized, very sad. They buried what remains they could find in a mass grave across the street at Oak Grove Cemetery. Here are some photos of the memorial, two large stones with all the names they could identify. They also identified some veterans and placed their memorials next to the large stones.
