The Nazareth Home for Boys Cemetery is located near 77 Mulberry Street in Leicester, Massachusetts (Worcester County).
The Nazareth Home for Boys Cemetery is on the grounds of the McAuley Nazareth Home for Boys. The Home was founded in 1901 by the Sisters of Mercy. The burial ground is for the nuns who were in this order.
I received an e-mail in December 2012 from Shelley M. with some additional information about this cemetery:
The cemetery is the burial place for the nuns of the Sisters of Mercy who dedicated their lives caring for the boys at the Nazareth Home. Most of them lived here at the Home with the boys. Today, there are only three retired nuns from the Sisters of Mercy Order that still serve at the Nazareth Home, but only in a volunteer capacity, and unfortunately, they may be the last.
The Home was founded in 1901 in Worcester as an orphanage and later named after Sister Catherine McAuley of Ireland who founded the Sisters of Mercy. The land in Leicester used to be known as the Kent Farm and was "purchased" by the Sisters in 1904. The church in front is the original church built in 1905, but it is empty and no longer used. I don't know if there will be plans for renovation or restoration.
