The visitor center for the Lowell National Historical Park is located on Dutton Street in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Lowell National Historical Park was established in 1978, and it is operated by the National Park Service. It is the oldest urban national park in the nation.

Lowell was a huge industrial city, consisting of many textile mills. However, the textile industry moved south in later years, and the city was left in ruins. Today there are several museums open to tourists, including a working mill and a girls' boarding house. I have also read that the Boott Cotton Mill Museum is supposedly haunted. Many people have seen apparitions roaming around the second floor, and sometimes unexplained footsteps are heard.
