In May 2006 I received an e-mail from Alicia Ross with an observation regarding one of Joy's photos:
I was scrolling through the photos taken by Joy, and some friends and I noticed an evil looking face of a woman with hair. It's the photo titled "Strange mist in the photo." The face is directly to the right of the tallest guy with the black sweater on. It looks like a skeleton face with big eye sockets, a nose, and a big mouth with hair. Maybe I'm just imagining things, but I can see the face so I hope others notice it too.
In May 2007 I received an e-mail from Robbie DeFino with an observation regarding another photo that Joy took:
I was looking at Joy's photos and I saw the same face you can see in the mist in the "Adjusted brightness and contrast 2" photo. It is really faint, but in the same spot as the other. I might just be seeing things, but I'm not sure.
