Philippi Bridge Philippi, West Virginia |
![]() Gerald Alspaugh sent me the following information about the Philippi Bridge: The US 119/250 Philippi Bridge was built by Lemuel Chenoweth and his brother Eli in 1852. It burnt in the 1980's, because gasoline from a nearby station leaked onto it, and a car's converter ignited it. The people in the car escaped unhurt, and the bridge was rebuilt.
