Flemming Petersen sent me the following information about this abandoned house:

This is an old farmhouse called Fritsholmgaard.

But first a little history lesson: In old times, Denmark wealth was something you boasted about. A very simple and obvious way to do this was by adding a chimney on your house when you got enough money to do it, so everyone could see how rich you were. Castles had, depending on their size, 6-7 chimneys (but never more!); manors had 4-5. The simple man had only 1 chimney, and quite wealthy people had 2. This house has 3 chimneys, so we must conclude that the people who once lived there had quite a lot of money, and that it was a distinguished home.

Fritsholmgaard is located in Urne, Ravnsborg Community, and is typically 1860-1880 architecture. It has been abandoned as long as anyone can remember, but the roof windows say 1960's, and there is also a 1960's toilet on the first floor...which, by the way, is really dangerous to walk around on because of the rotten floor. No pictures from the inside, only my brother has been inside, and without camera. There once was a dirt road to access this buliding, but now shrubbery and whole trees have taken the road back to nature. You have to walk through the field to access the house nowadays. It is probably one of the most ramshackled houses I have seen (which should not be categorized ruin), and the garden is, as the pictures show, definitely the closest you can get to a Scandinavian jungle. On the pictures taken in the backyard, the white branches and twings are due to the autoflash on my analogue camera.
