Eastern Cemetery is located at the intersection of Congress Street and India Street in Portland, Maine (Cumberland County). The coordinates are 43° 39' 45" N, 70° 15' 0" W.

Eastern Cemetery was chartered in 1668, and it is no longer active. There are many old gravestones, including many slate monuments with beautiful, detailed carvings. The cemetery is very well maintained. If it hadn't been raining when I visited in June 2009, I'm sure I could have spent much longer walking around.
