Photos taken by Darin Labat.
Darin Labat sent me the following information about the Springfield Cemetery:
These are the photos of Springfield Cemetery and the headstone of Michael Brown, who was killed in a car accident. The night before he died, he drew the carving on a brown paper bag. The picture is his depiction of him and his dog on a fox hunt. He loved to fox hunt. Shortly after the headstone was initially put in place, his mother had the carving engraved. That's when the rumors started. The most popular of which had Michael killed by a hit and run drunk driver named Wilkerson, and that the carving mysteriously appeared after the headstone was placed naming the people involved in Michael's death.
Anyway, another time I was told that the young boy was killed when walking his dog, and was hit by a car and left dead on the side of the road. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of his burial. After his headstone was placed at his grave, a carving appeared on the back of it, mysteriously. It showed him and his dog on the street along with all of the people responsible for his death with some of them laughing and joking about him being hit. All of their names were carved into the headstone. After the carving appeared, the kids responsible for his death turned themselves into the police and were arrested. From what I was told, no one knows how the carving got there.
