Cate S. sent me the following information about her visit to the Omer Church and Cemetery:

Omer Church is on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in Barrow County, Georgia, Omer Church was established in 1883 and was named in honor of Reverend R.V. Omer.

Omer Church Cemetery was first used back in 1820. Obviously, it was there before the church was built. Some of the graves in this cemetery were either marked with metal crosses or rocks. Then there were some that were marked with what seemed to be cement slabs that people had drawn names into, let cure [or set? I forget which does which], and then painted inside the grooves with black paint for easier reading.
