Cate S. sent me the following information about her visit to this cemetery:

During winter break last year, my friend Wendy and I did our science fair project and decided to base it on fear. Our goal was to get to as many cemeteries or other creepy places as possible and document anything that happened. Well, we were at a cemetery in Winterville, Georgia one night for our project. It was actually the first place we had gone. At one point we were trying to decide whether or not we would walk the perimeter of the cemetery. Wendy didn't want to walk next to the woods and neither did I, lol. So we just headed back to a tombstone with a lit up cross so we could write in our log books. Well, for some reason I wanted to turn around, and as soon as I did, I saw what I thought was a shadow cross the path about 10 feet behind me. I also heard what I thought was a child laughing. I didn't want to tell Wendy though because I didn't want to scare her. I just dismissed the "shadow" as my eyes adjusting to the dark and we moved on. Well, later on we were walking towards the front of the cemetery and we both stopped at the same time. From what I remember, Wendy asked me if I had heard something and I said yes. I asked her, because of the look on her face, if she had heard what sounded like a little kid laugh. She said yes. Then I proceeded to tell her about me hearing it earlier that night.

The cemetery has stories of hauntings, but the only one I ever heard was about your car not re-starting when you turn it off inside the cemetery. That never happened to us.
