A vague story from the abandoned locks at Canal Fulton has the vengeful spirit of a canal official haunting Lock Four. Supposedly he became enraged at the prospect of seeing his operation shut down and went on an acid-murder spree, killing a number of the workers with acid and finally offing himself in this gruesome and impractical way. Now he and his victims roam the area around the lock with their scary acid-scarred faces.
