Ghost Hollow

"Ghost Hollow" is a name given by railroad workers to a rural section of Portage County near Rootstown. There used to be a pond in this area where a boy named Chapman drowned. They filled the pond in, but the boy's ghost continued to haunt the area. Train conductors dreaded having to stop for any reason in Ghost Hollow.

The Hollow surrounds the railroad tracks (currently Conrail) which run between Rootstown and Atwater, at the place where they cross Industry Road.
