Seneca Lake
When various creeks were dammed to create Seneca Lake, a farm taken by eminent domain was submerged. Supposedly the farmhouse and barn were never dismantled and are still down there in the murky depths. One day a guy swimming in Seneca Lake dove into the water and broke his leg on the roof of one of the unseen farm buildings and drowned. Ever since, people sometimes see him there--either swimming the water above that treacherous submarine farm, or roaming the north shore of the lake on foot.
